2000 V70xc: What Glue To Use To Glue Panels And The Clip Holders Back?

when i bought the car some of the clip holders came apart from the door panels and they would move and so on. Took of all 4 of them and there's a lot of glue to be used.

What kind would you recommend. i have basic automotive GOOP from the auto store. Will it work?

Clear automotive silicone

Works great! Let dry for at least 24 hours before you try to re-install them

I've repaired a ton of these door panels

just the answer i was looking for.

could not believe how this panel would come apart.

I mean, i've heard about them being delaminated, but when actual clip holders start coming unglued, that's just bad.

I understand that they are 10 years or older, but nothing like this with 850s.

They tried using some "eco-glue" stuff. Good for the environment, crappy for longevity. I've used silicon with good success. I also used some Gorilla glue, meant for use with clamps. I set the piece up with the glue and then placed a heavy object on it. Takes longer to dry than silicon, but I think the finished product is a little stronger.

No it doesn't!

3M will come apart on this deal

(Been there, tried it. Silicone is a no brainer)

I've glued 3 full sets with 3M and know plenty of locals that swear by it, my current panels are still completely sturdy months after the install.

Ease up with your grumpy issues.

It doesn't matter what it is, YOU ARE NOT OPEN TO OTHER SOLUTIONS ASIDE FROM YOUR OWN. It's really annoying.

agreed, 3M will work just fine. Just make sure to get the 3M Hi-Strength 90.

I first used some leftover automotive goop and when i ran out just followed JRL's advice and bought some clear silicone. Had to use clamps with some sub-panels that came apart (just above the window master switch and where pockets are)from the main door panel.
