Brad850
Hi guys, I'm in the process of doing the turbo/na throttle body swap and I couldn't help but notice my 850 NA tb is a bit different than the ones I saw when i searched project threads. The only way I can really describe it (probably sounding like an idiot) is that it has these two sticks coming out of it. Every other 850 tb I've seen online doesn't have these. Sorry I can't take a picture of mine at the moment but here is what I'm talking about. Its the brass colored thing sticking out on the left . There's two of them What are they? Did I get a throttle body from the wrong 850?
Dave 54
I believe those came on 94's, should work the same just cap it off.
the commissar!
Yep, the one I'm running at the moment is like that...easiest way is to get short length of vac line and run from one to the other and clamp on but you can remove them and seal with screw or any number of other options...just seal them or you have a vac leak. Random off topic thought Would that be a good place to install an electronic boost sensor or is the hole to small to get a good reading?
bergmjs
Yep, they're just vacuum barbs, cap them, connect them, plug them, whatever you want. If you put a bolt on place of them, make sure it doesn't protrude into the cavity that the throttle plate rotates in. As for the boost sensor, the barbs on the pre-throttle side of the body, so if you need a reading off of the charge pipes, then it would probably be good, but if you need a manifold absolute pressure, then no, it's a bad place. Thanks for reminding me why I didn't do that in the first place...that is why I should never actually type my random thoughts!
