rodrigo
Here are a few updates. Installed some hubcaps almost 2 weeks ago. Have a power antenna coming, as well as front rotors and pads, and an intermitant wiper relay. Rat's nest of an engine bay: My thumb is recovering nicely after having closed the rear passenger door on it the first night we got the 240 home:
Overboost850
Engine bay is not awful! I've seen worse (like an actual rat's nest )

Speaking of dreaming, I'll have an R5 Turbo 2 sitting here in a couple of weeks, let me know if that's the perfect excuse to come to Lexington and visit. :)
exexpat
Looks like it's pretty clean, well, except for the engine bay - that reminds me of Performance VW feature car engine bays from the UK in late 1990's (Greg might get this comment). :D
rodrigo
oh, no Jeremy...it's pretty sloppy. hahahaha. it needs a really thorough cleaning, but between time and a hand injury that it still a bit sensitive it has been taking me a long time to get that accomplished. Hopefully soon.
rodrigo
An update on my 240...this weekend I got around to installing a power antenna. It seems that this car had a power antenna to begin with, or they all came pre-wired for a power antenna. Regardless...there is a power antenna on it now...I just have to finish making the bracket so it is properly supported by the pinch weld seam of the inner wheel well. I also made a temporary seal from a bicycle tube in case the plastic cap's o-ring was smaller than the hole that was drilled in the quarter-panel by the previous owner...what a hack job. Anyway...it seals water as we have had some serious rain storms up here and the antenna goes up and down as it is supposed to...I just have to shim the motor so as to make the antenna mast perpendicular to the rear bumper line (which looks straight ) Here are the accompanying pictures: Temp seal fabrication (LOL): Test fit: The finished look: Radio reception is also excellent now.I also have another project in the works which I will show a mere sample picture of. This will be documented once complete and working.
