blazen244
The problem I'm having is when the boost comes on I don't feel it much at all but, the gauge inside says it's boosting. Is the gauge a true representation of what the motor is seeing. When I rev the car the motor sounds good and strong, I can hear the turbo spooling. Any idea on what this issue could be, my mechanic is closed on Saturdays.
FCP Euro
Could just be a bad boost leak. What is the guage going up to? If it is the stock Volvo gauge, it should be going to half way through the white section on the gauge.

The gauge is stock and when I go into passing gear it's hitting just past the half way point but not completely to the line to the far right of the gauge.I took some time yesterday and pulled all of the hose between the turbo and the inter cooler then between there and the intake. I was also told that there could be a leak in the hoses that wouldn't be visible until it was under boost. I did miss a few cause I didn't know where they were so I'll be checking those when I get off today, these are the few hoses under the throttle body cover I guess that's what it is.One other thing, that turbo gauge response is it a representation of what the intake is seeing or is that a gauging of the boost at a common place feeding the intake and the gauge? Boost gauge gets its boost/vac from the vac tree, at least in '94 it did.

Okay, good to know also I checked that IAC hose you mentioned and the clamp is missing on one end and two holes are in it from another hose
gilber33
Okay, good to know also I checked that IAC hose you mentioned and the clamp is missing on one end and two holes are in it from another hose I would replace that then right away. But still put on the hoses you got from FCP. Factory intercooler hoses get coated with oil and it slowly destroys them. I bet if the hoses are still factory and you look inside some of them, you'll see layers that are missing, that's what mine looked like when I took them off. Yes, you're right some of them had a little oil and worn so bad I could actually tie it in a knot
