Jack8745
so i see people now venting to the atmosphere with their oil catch cans. correct me if I'm wrong, but the VS school of thought was not to vent because 850/70 need the pressure to keep oil seals in place. Why do i see more of you now venting your catch cans. what am i missing? ps 97 850 turbo with catch jaz can not venting

There is no way CC pressure would be keeping anything in place, neither would vacuum. The only reason to vent to atmos, is if you are running 1) larger turbo 2) high boost levels 3) 7600-8200rpm rev limit. OR, if you just don't like all that oil residue coating your intake tracts. AverageVolvo
Providing smog wont be a problem You should definitely Vent to atmosphere. It Relieves CC pressure AND Catches that crapy sludge. Here is my thread On how I installed mine. You need at least a1 liter breather though. OR you will need to empty it too frequently. http://volvospeed.co...26#entry1916726

Falcone
I dumped to the atmosphere for almost a year. Than I got tired of always being covered in a film of oil, and the novelty for the ladies wears off quick, and the smell gets to them. It stinks, but works great, if its your dd and you've sworn off women, go for it.

AverageVolvo
I put Stainless Steel Scour Pads and have Zero Oil mist coming out of my catch can. This is on a dozen or more 8mile Wot Canyon Runs @ 21 Psi 6800Rpm limiter(hitting it all the time ) If I don't empty it every 5 Runs or so it start to spray oil out. But keep in mind that 5 runs is 90miles of constant Wot Driving around town semi aggressively does it catches minimal blowby. and could probably be emptied every few gas tanks.
