LongBeach 850
I'm having a horrible time trying to get these hoses on this car, do you guys that have used them have any secrets? FCP says use heat I tried with my heat gun and now dice. Boil a pot on the stove, let it cool down after it reaches boiling, drop the hoses in, let em sit. grab some gloves and pull them out, run outside and slide em on I wouldnt recommend using motor oil as it will always stay there and will hurt grip at higher boost levels use hairspray or gaskasynch, sprays on slippery, dries hard The oil won't shorten the life of the hose? lol if you only knew the amount of oil flowing through your intercooler piping you would laugh
bob850
Funny you should ask, I had a set of FCP intercooler hoses delivered yesterday that I have yet to install in my wife's 850. I can tell you that on my 850, I installed a set of Stylin Motors intercooler hoses a few years ago, and in certain places (particularly at the throttle body) I had a heck of a time getting the hose to fit. I ended up cutting a chamfer (45 degree angle) into the interior edge of the hose to help it slide on. A bit of motor oil helped also. I was hoping the FCP hoses would be easier, but it sounds like I'm in for a tough time with those also. Oh well.

Oreo931
Motor oil will not hurt the hoses, there will be some oil going through them regardless. And if you're using decent clamps, a little bit of oil on the inside of the hoses won't impact whether they pop off under boost. It's not like you need to dump half a quart in...We're talking, stick your finger in the bottle and use what comes out.

AverageVolvo
A Little bit of Hot water and diluted dish soap works well.

g96nt
I returned my FCP hoses last week. I was having to put enough force into installing them that I was afraid I was going to break the plastic end-tanks on the intercooler. everyone says they should be tight, but the only one of their hoses I could get on with wd-40, heat, and prying, was the turbo outlet. (the little 3" long hose.) these hoses were actually smaller than the pipes they were supposed to be fitting on. When the credit goes back onto my card, I'll be purchasing the ipd/Samco set. That being said, Mike was awesome at handling the situation, and call-tagged 'em for me.

I knew about the throttle body hose issues in the early batches, but had heard that issue was solved. Didn't know about any overall fitment issues with the rest of the hoses.
