The Pain Of Modding A 240

So I spent a little over 9 hours at Austin's yesterday (actually we worked till a little past midnight). All to just chop 2 coils off the front springs.

Anyways I LOVE the look I got, its lower than a stock 850's bumper is, and its wheel wells are about the same spacing, resulting in beautiful rake.

Austin also got around to tinting my taillights, but the one picture I got, showed them completely blacked out, which isn't how they look.

Anyways heres some pics.

Austin Chopping one of the springs.

Took this photo like 1 second before the spring broke free.

Cutting off the useless coils leftover on the strut.

Hard work resulted in losing more than 75% of the wheel gap, but not only that, the rake turned out PERFECT for what I wanted.

Just to put it into perspective, I had about 7 inches of wheel gap in the front beforehand, and had mad reverse rake.

One crappy picture showing the bumper height.

We had to pry apart 24 years of seized suspension. And Manually crank all the spring compressors xD.

Heres a before and after shot. Its quite substantial.

Looks good, needs more low. I'll post pics of my 760 wagon tomorrow, just got the rear set how I need it, ditched the nivomats for air-adjustable. Just half a coil more on the front and I think we're good till I get camber plates. I love the 240's slammed, but eventually you have to shorten the strut housing, makes it a pain in the butt. Another coil requires removal :)

And as far as cheap coilovers....
