shellshock
Somewhat stumped by this. I threw these on about 4k miles ago (were on the other S70 that got in a fender bender about a year ago) and I'm suspecting the right rear is blown. The car had set a few days, and last night on the highway, something just didn't feel right with the car. I pulled over and pushed down on the trunk, car is all bouncy. Has anyone dealt with Bilstein US as far as warranty business goes? I've heard it's a royal PITA. I'm curious as to why they have failed. The car has FCP lowering springs, and I'm very cautious with speed bumps, potholes, etc, as I have Volans that I've just refinished and take great care not to damage them on the poor roads we have here. AverageVolvo
Relax, it's most likely the Rubber Shock mount. Car is safe to drive until the replacement comes. just take it a little easier on hard corners. Open your trunk remove the spare tire cover and the piece behind it. Take a peak. Might need a 10mm socket/driver. IIRC. Also the rear is always softer than the front as it should be, My Kw's on full still are at almost 20% softer to keep the rear end behind the front, on hard cornering lol. NEU
It's not a PITA as long as you have your receipt for the them. Should be easy to get replacements. If you don't or aren't the original buyer your screwed...
