98glt-5
In the middle of a swap, im pretty sure the new tranny has a speed sensor, near the right axle, only thing is, plug is different from the auto one, what do you guys do in this situation? thanks. Black Betty
What year is the trans and what year is the car? You may have to just pick up the speed from the abs ring on the axle depending the year of the trans/car.
gilber33
If the trans has a speed sensor on it, then it's an M56L and you'll have to tap the wires into the transmission wiring harness to get to get the speed signal.
jnderr
Looks like you are swapping into a 98? Which means you should not have to do anything as that year did not have a trans speed sensor. Correct me if I am wrong.

NO speed sensor used for '98, speed signal comes from ABS on '
