caper26
Hi all. Quick question for a friend. History: He had stereo stolen and by accident, ran his car with bare power leads (batt, acc, gnd). He installed new stereo but it would now power on. Checked fuse, and it was blown. Replaced. Still no power. He asked me about it, so I checked the batt and ACC power on his harness with a meter. I am not proficient with car electrical, but I got a ~12V reading on the battery lead, and nothing on the ACC lead with the key turned to acc of course. I cut the wire on the harness and measured directly and still no voltage. The wire is yellow with a purple stripe? I check all other lead on the harness with acc on and off, and there were no other 12V readings in both positions (although there was another Battery (constant) lead on the harness). Can anyone help? Thanks!! ~cape

Guest Guest
So, how is power on fuse 32? I haven't checked that fuse yet...we are still at work. Would the rest of the car have switched power if that fuse were blown, or just the stereo?? The rest of the car DOES have switched (acc) power at the moment. There are many switched power systems, so there are many switched power fuses. Have a 10 amp ( blue ) fuse handy. Edit: Sorry, RED. My bad...
