VolvoRacer850R
Can anyone say that there is a difference in stiffness between the h&rs and ipds?? I have ipds sitting and h&rs on the car now. I know the ipds are a bit lower but I'm looking for a stiffer setup. I need to get some yellows as soon as my budget allows. Though I could steal them off my wife's. Hehe. aggarcia
If you call IPD will they have the spring rate for both products. Since if they are not progressive springs you can calculate spring rate. The how to is on the Internet somewhere. AG
ARD - Lucky
Fronts are linear. Rears are progressive for both brands.
Kit Vexed
T5Hammy, are your fenders rolled though? and what about spacers? see, i've NO rub issues up front on the H&R/HD combo, BUT im rubbing the very outer edge of the tire in the rear cause im using H&R 15mm spacers.. it's so slight and on the edge im sure a set of 12mm spacers would cure that... but the 15mm really give that flush fender look and match the offset of the front wheels perfect ) im vein, sew me! and 225 35 18 is pretty much the largest you'd want to go with little to no issues.. so will the car sit lower on konis or not? definitive answer plz.. if i dont have to go stiffer with iPd and still get lower on H&R, that's great. i'd rather not buy from iPd again.. btw, nice to see you back Luck! lengendsecko87
I got H&R cause they were cheap at the moment I bought them. I like the drop, it makes the car fit the wheel well very well and it stifens up the ride quite a bit. I have rode in a car with IPDs in them before and those are definitely stiffer/lower I think, or it might have been the fact that they have been running on 17s. VolvoRacer850R
Hmmmm I have 18" pegs with the h&r setup. I like them but I want it stiffer and can't afford yellows ect.
nocturnal7x
FYI, unless you have another source, the IPDs are out of stock at least another month. I ordered mine on the 22nd (april) and got an email today saying it would be another month for my order. They seem to only order one at a time because they were 7 days out when I ordered mine, I guess that was the one pair they ordered for someone else a month before
aggarcia
They are custom springs built in low volume. They most likely have an minimum order from their supplier. Once a shipment arrives if they have more back orders than supply buyers will have to wait for the next batch. A would doubt they are buying single pairs of springs. Kit Vexed
if you're planning on running 18s with low pros, i wouldnt go iPd. you're already stiffening up the feel of the car by having larger wheels and thinner sidewalls.. this is a common misconception by ppl. your tires ARE part of your suspension. the ride is softer with taller sidewalls cause tires, to some degree, absort impacts.. i started this thread being 50/50, but now im leaning towards H&R because i'd rather have a car i can drive lol. stiffer springs + 35 profile tires = a harsh ride. also, if you have yellows or plan to get a set, and the H&Rs aren't stiff enough, turn that knob baby!
