Livvakt
How much of a hack-job is required to retrofit the fog light housings for HIDs? I know they'll "work", and I know it's not a huge issue finding where to stash the ballasts, I'm just curious as to whether it's a simple "teeny tiny dremmel job" or a "zomg cuttin the crap out of crap" type ordeal. Specs: (because "specs" sounds fancy) S80 Classic (because that's what they're calling it these days) DDM Slim Kit Yeah. Thanks in advance! harleyhv
Not sure if this will help Will attempt the same mod in the near future. From what I saw when I installed the fog last weekend, the bulb holder needs to be modified. This VS write up basically covers this aspect. http://volvospeed.com/install_performance_parts_how_tos/cosmetic_diy_upgrades/HID_retrofit_foglights_s40_v40.html other than this additional step, it's basically find a spot for the ballasts and plug it in. Serge
Shouldn't be a problem. If you have a 35W kit, I would just run it off the stock wiring (I do that with my OEM ballasts for the headlights). Since you have DDM slim ballasts, you shouldn't have issues with placement. They can be put anywhere and are virtually splash proof. Either drill holes and use some self-taping screws, or some very good double sided sticky tape.
