Mpg's

Recommended Posts

My first instinct says o2 sensor possible. Is the OEM 02 sensor on our cars a wideband? IF not, than the wide-band may be sensing sending a different signal to the ecu than what the oem's narrow bands does. If this is the case, then the ecu will not be able to correctly interpret the signal and therefore not able to correctly modify the fuel map.

Thing is I really have no idea if the signal of the wideband is able to be interpreted by the ecu like the oem one is.

Anything more that 1-2% just to dry the fuel is going to have a noticable impact on MPG.

This...BP in Ohio ups the Ethanol in the winter and MPGs really fall. of course some of it is just the temps, but their winter fuel sucks. I only use Shell anyway..my wife is a notorious BP user and she finally listened to me and started buying Shell and her avg MPG in the XC/90 went from ~15 to ~19..no other changes..I usually overall get @ 21-22 and I am a fast driver (no matter what I drive), not a street racer, I just drive 75-85 most of the time on the highway..

Also double check tire pressure and tire condition these are MAJOR mpg eaters..
