gottago
Hey guys, need a replacement axle recommendation. Wifes v70xc needs r/f inner boot, no other issues, no steering wobble, no noises or anything else. I was going to just replace the boot, but decided on going ahead and replace the complete axle. So I'm looking for a source for the replacement, who do you guys recommend, car is still driveable and I am located in the Los Angeles area. Thanks for your input. Keaton85
Just buy the axle and replace it. The axle should be about $60-$70 depending on where you buy it and then install it. SUPPER easy remove wheel, unbolt axle, unbolt bearing carrir, unbolt control arm ball joint and then pop out the axle... Any shop should only charge about 100-150 to install in the LA area. Big Will
Here you go: DSS Brand http://www.fcpgroton.com/product-exec/product_id/16295/nm/Volvo_V70_XC_XC70_AWD_Front_Right_Axle_Assembly/category_id/104 EMPI Brand http://www.eeuroparts.com/Main/PartDetail.aspx?id=80-7824 I have no experience with DSS but EMPI has a good reputation on here. I've used their boot kits which are excellent.
