Next year will be 16 in a row for me. smile.gif Hope to stay a little longer then I did this year. And I really need to see more of the other cars in the show field too. The last 2 years I've never left the comfy zone of all the Volvos.. blink.gif

Also any of the VA crew that did the caravan up with me, I hope to do the same next. That was sweet looking in my rear views and seeing a dozen Volvos in a row... I hope everyone else liked it too. cool.gif

Yeah you left before I could steal a couple of those sweet bbs wheels you picked up.

Carlisle is turning into a family camping trip to me.It is always a great time and it's nice to finally meet the names on the board.I do like that everyone gets along. All you guys on VS are good people :) If anyone went over and checked out the SAAB side of the field, you would have noticed how organized they were :( I do think we should try and set up a well organized Volvo side next year. They even had a pig roast! Thank you Moosepower, and Fiore for helping me clean the Volvo showfield Sunday morning....It was TRASHED! Can't wait til next year!!

From my experience last year, it got boring being in one section of all Saab 900s, and then another section of Saab 9000s, and then another section of 9-5s, etc etc etc. Too organized tbh, to the point where it becomes boring. A few times in my head I'd be like "oh sweet! Nice 900, oh cool another 900s beside it... hey look another 900... okay fuck the rest, I'm gonna go see the 9000s now.":P

VS really is like a big family :D. I love how we all know each other by first name basis and can joke/bs/shens despite being from all parts of the continent. It really adds a nice personal touch and it's good to know we all can trust each other! When my other friends crack jokes about Volvos in general and say things like "come on man, Volvos are for old people", I enjoy being able to say things like "yeah but my friend ******* in ******* has a ******* and it's pretty fucking awesome". :D

Even some of the local forums I'm on, people still refer to each other by their online user names. And even the ones who have met each other in the past just don't pull off shens and bs around like VS'ers. It's awesome here. :)

Ha, I know I was worried one of you jokers would swipe them. You guys and your little shenanigans! rolleyes.gif So I kept locking my car. I left it open by accident when I was making a pit stop and when I saw the hatch open and thought they'd be gone. ph34r.gif I almost $hit a brick! wink.gif

And I'm sorry we didn't get to talk about beards and mustaches one more time.... When I saw the picture of Kurt in Walmart and the Michael "Hitler" Jordan ad I remember that from last year.. Ahhhh good times!laugh.gif

While this is true, you'll also notice that they all don't hang out together either. When Dana (owner of TB) and I started doing this, our goal was for camaraderie between the younger crowd as VCOA at the time paid zero attention to us (boo-hoo, right?). Everyone used to register as VCOA and we'd be left out in the sun at the end of the isle hanging out, our cars would never win any VCOA awards, etc. Attempts were made to rectifiy this w/ VCOA and they were not well received. So Dana and I said F this, and we started the Volvospeed/Turbobricks "club" and asked everyone to register as such in an attempt to make a statement to VCOA and to get our own tent. It's always been about the tent! The first year we had 10 or so cars less than VCOA and the next year we crushed them in registrations and have continued to do so ever since. The point has been made, and maybe it's time to reconcile things or maybe continue on, on our(VS/TB) own? Dana and I have never really been all that interested in beating out the Saabs, because we know what it would take to do so. They had 278 cars to our 114 this year... Audi came in a close 3rd at 90 something.

If we do get organized, my only request is that we maintain the VS/TB "club" as this is what it has always been, and I personally like the mix of new/old/and older cars and their respective owners.

Comraderie first, organization second, but loyalty above all else. We are VS/TB and we put the VCOA to shame with attendance. Let them come to US. We should try and organize a bit and put together a better plan so that they will want to come to us and be a part of.

I plan on being there next year and would be willing to help.

Thanks Greg for all your efforts.

Yea, regarding that comment. I wouldn't say "all," or else there wouldn't be certain Volvo assclowns at Carlisle that feel the need to be (not)cool in front of their friends and peel out in front of them all the while showering their fellow Volvo family members and cars with gravel. Thanks family member! Now let me throw a bunch of rocks at you and your car. Other than certain one off incidents like this that leave a bad taste, the majority of people I met and socialized with are good people.
