Prezman26
So I just downgraded from my two 12" subs to one 12" sub and everything was going fine. I put on a song where the bass hits pretty hard, turned up the volume and at a certain volume level, the bass hit and the whole stereo cut out. I turned it off then turned it on and had to put the volume setting down one and everything worked fine. But everytime it hits the one level it cuts out. All connections in the back are fine. This never happened with the two 12"s. Do i need to add something to the set-up? I will say that all my speakers and sub are routed into the 1000w amp. --Aaron--
Sounds like there's a problem with the wiring as far as resistance levels go. Link to the sub you're using so I can see how many voice coils and how many ohms per coil? Also, link to your amp's specs? How is the sub wired to the amp, bridged, etc? Agreed sounds like the amp is cutting out due to overheating.

--Aaron--
lolwat Mike, from now on..........when you buy a used subwoofer make sure you know how many voice coils it has, if 2 then you need to be aware of how they're wired inside the box. Also be aware of your amp's capabilities. :P
