sconeman
hello lads and lasses , did my 1st ever drag race this weekend and am hooked. best time of the day for me was 14.38 @ 100.6mph not to bad for something that only has 287bhp car is a manual t5r cheers sorry typing error , car has 278bhp congrats. I think if you get the rev issue fixed you'd do a a bit better. I can't wait to take my 850, hopefully sometime this summer.
T5wagon1717
Yeah it sounded around what it should put out. Just curious if it was dynoed.

boxpin
Hey, that was a great run. Congrats!
98t5M
the car has a 16t with white injectors and a decat , and a mbc set at 15 psi , for some reason the car will not rev past 5.5 rpm either , with a better reaction time a think she could make 14.1 or 14 flat Reaction time doesn't affect your E.T., the timer doesn't start until your tires cross the staging line. You could however make a lot of improvement by shaving a couple tenths off your 60' foot time.
tater0509
with a better reaction time a think she could make 14.1 or 14 flat Reaction time has no impact on your 1/4 mile time.
dimka18
I did 14.4 at 96mph in my stock manual 855R with .002 reaction and 2nd run got the same time with .200 so reaction does nothing to 1/4 time
leet5r
thanks lads , like i say it was my first time and only did 4 runs practice is the key me thinks
Abundant Meat
You can definitely hit better numbers. Your 60ft can use some work...but being your first time you did great! Just keep practicing your launches. Keep leaving the line with your foot a little bit more into it until you get to the point where you lose traction. Once you figure out what that point is back off a little bit and you found your sweet spot...Of course this is assuming you know how to let the clutch out..(don't just dump the clutch out when you go)
justjim
what was the air temp and humidity?
slcturbo
what was the air temp and humidity? Way to get out there. I'm dying to take my new to me 96' 854R for some baseline runs. Has K&N, colder plugs, and supposedly chip although a boost gauge only showed ~12psi, settling to 11, then down to 10. I want 13's on the stock turbo. TRACStar
I want 13's on the stock turbo. Its doable but seems to be rare. I ran a 13.9 with a straight flanged 16T, after swapping to angled and R manifod pulled a 13.7 on the same 16T. To give yourself the best chances use steelies in the front if you got them, I ran at the track one time with volans and lost almost 4 tenths. Yeah I wanna keep the car full weight and comfortable if I can so I would like to avoid swapping wheels, weight reduction etc. We'll see how it goes. Got my SLC down to 11.4's from 15's, but that was alot of modding. Not going through that again especially with a weak auto trans and rods. We'll see what a chip, exhaust, and all the "little things" net me. Next nice cool day and I'll be posting a slip. Its doable but seems to be rare. What tire are you running? Thanks
justjim
my best is 14.1 @ 98 w/ a 2.2 60' 15" drag radials that i borrowed. 14.5 on slicks @ 94 mph and 14.6 @@ 96 on stock 16" alloys and street tires. my setup was mostly stock (15g angled, OBX, K&N, Sporttuning tune) but i've added an mbc, fixed a boost leak and turned up the wick to 17 psi in all gears and done the accumulator mod. going for 13's at test and tune tomorrow night. BTW my 14.1 was on a cold dry night, i believe it was about 50 degrees.
