InitialDriveGTR
Anyone have a hydraulic handbrake? I've been thinking of getting another master cylinder off some junkyard car and rigging it up to my handbrake, running it to the booster, and then finagling a second rear caliper bracket. Ideas? am I nuts? Don't judge me.

AverageVolvo
Haterz gonna hate. Definitely a lot of fun to be had. But certainly not the most practical or understood mod But then again, most of you have probably also never encountered oversteer on a track with your Fwd Volvo . When you start under-steering, throttle lift /brake lift off induced over-steer corrects it nicely. As stated in my thread for cost effective purposes and whatnot a mechanical e-brake setup is ideal. .

InitialDriveGTR
Other options meaning other than fixing it? Yup. So you think a hydraulic setup wouldn't work as the parking brake?
Che'_Moderator
They leak down over time.
Zeal
There is a way to install a secondary brake caliper so you can have a parking brake and also hydraulic rear brakes, though I don't see much use unless this was a rwd drift car lol.
Eakin
I'm bringing this topic up from the depths to see if you ever went with a hydraulic hand brake or not. I'm looking for some feedback from people that have tried something beyond the factory setup to see what's working for them. I'm debating installing one in my S70 that I use for rallycross, but am still trying to decide between mounting a second Wilwood mechanical caliper on the rears and using the OEM cable assembly to actuate it, or leaving the factory drum system in place and adding a hydraulic setup. I've been trying to work with the factory setup all season, but after 7 events, and rebuilding the drums twice, I'm ready for a new option. The factory setup works fine hold the car on a hill, but it's not so great at helping induce some oversteer when you want it.
