The Big Tuna
ok i thought of a couple questions i COULD search for but i know you guys are awesome and would help a n00b out. where's the oil filter located? also on that subject, is there an upgraded filter i can use? on my probe GT i run a corvette zr1 filter. what does the radio code do? where do i punch the number in, on the stereo? if i get a new cd player put in do i still need that code? Have you looked underneath the car yet? It's pretty easy to find on the passenger side of the car, as for upgrade I've only used OEM filters made for an 850, the newer Volvo ones wouldn't fit if you tried. Radio code, yeah use the preset radio numbers to enter the code. Do you have a code? If not take out the stereo and look to see if the previous owner wrote them on the radio (pretty common). If not just stop by a local Volvo dealer or call one so they can give you the code, you'll need the radio serial #, radio part #, and the vin of the car. As for needing the code, you only need it for the Volvo OEM unit, it's the security code for the unit itself not the whole audio system Hope this helps some SpenceBtw if you haven't already figured out, if you enter the wrong radio Cade three times it goes into "code mode". Which then it's a PITA, so don't enter 0000 or 1234
