Matty Moo
I have stuff I have to send there, one guy asked me if I could do UPS because Canada Post is on strike. I knew nothing about that, so I look online and get conflicting info....rolling strike, full strike, etc. So, is there really a full blown strike or are things actually getting delivered? Zappo
I am not Canadian, but they are on strike. It was a rolling strike for the first 2 weeks of the month, then a lock out since the 14th. It appears the government is stepping in to end it. UPS looks to be the better shipping method right now.
PyROTech
yes, its strike/lockout. Not even sure if you could even send it regardless that they dont deliver. I think the US postal service has stopped accepting Canadian bound mail. Could be wrong though.

Matty Moo
I've never used UPS to ship there, I'm just not making any sense out of the brokerage fees, etc.

CJones16
I've tried to send stuff via UPS to Canada but couldn't figure out all the paper work and forms myself Straight from USPS (Updated Daily) "Canada CANADIAN PARLIAMENT IN SESSION TO DISCUSS BACK-TO-WORK LEGISLATION – WILL WORK THROUGH THE WEEKEND IF NECESSARY USPS still is not accepting mail to Canada except for Global Express Guaranteed (GXG). Legislation was introduced in the Canadian Parliament earlier in the week to force workers back to work. With contract negotiations between the union and Canada Post at a standstill, the Canadian government will now begin considering the legislation. Canada Post has notified the Postal Service that Parliament will work through the weekend if necessary to bring legislation to a vote. USPS will begin moving into Canada all mail currently held in its network once it receives notification from Canada Post it has resumed normal operations. USPS has been in contact with Canada Post and is working on plans to ensure minimal delays. Meanwhile, GXG still is available for delivery into Canada and remains the best option to avoid delays in service. GXG is available at thousands of retail locations across the country or through Click-N-Ship at usps.com." Matty Moo
It's a pain in the ass to figure out....I'm not down for that, I just want to print a label and slap it on a box. I've already spent an hour just trying to figure out an exact price, and still can't get it. That's an hour wasted. As screwed up as USPS is, at least they make it simple to ship internationally. Personally, I think the shipping prices between Canada and the US are bullshit anyway. I can send a package to Florida for $7, but it's $30 to ship to Windsor, which is 50 miles from my house.
