boxpin
The manual swap is done but I have the Check Engine light on and a blinking up shift light. What can I do about these?

(n)A-GAME
Unless you're using a manual ECU you will get the blinking up arrow. As for CEL did you pull the codes? Maybe you knocked something loose or forgot to connect something.
boxpin
I will pull the codes when I get home today. Just fired it up last night and drove to work this morning. I did not pull the TCU. So is the blinking up shift arrow considered a present? Do I just remove that bulb?

You shouldn't get any cels when it's gone
prasamin
you can pull the TCU out, but the up arrow is there to stay unless you get a manual tune on your ECU. as for the CEL, did you do all the wiring for the reverse sensor/lights, and the gear position sensor thing, etc? there are some pins you have to jumper on trans harness to do all of these things.... boxpin
I jumped the greens to start it but have not connected the reverse switch(blues). For the speed sensor it was just a plug-in.

TIZIO AKA 1 HND MEC
WELCOME TO THE 5SP GROUP!!! The arrow go away after you pull the tranny ECU, you will got a CEL with two or few more codes: ONE for missing tranny ECU and TWO +all the cylinder misfire when the ECU cut off the gas! As stated above you need a manual ECU or talk with Lucky (ARD)
need11@47
As stated above you need a manual ECU or talk with Lucky (ARD) I don't think Lucky is with IPD any longer. I'd suggest you call Scott Hart next week.

Matt_
you can pull the TCU out, but the up arrow is there to stay unless you get a manual tune on your ECU. My up arrow was on for about a month before I did the swap, and never came back on after. WELCOME TO THE 5SP GROUP!!! The arrow go away after you pull the tranny ECU, you will got a CEL with two or few more codes: ONE for missing tranny ECU and TWO +all the cylinder misfire when the ECU cut off the gas! As stated above you need a manual ECU or talk with Lucky (ARD) +1 to everything Tizio stated. Only CEL I kept getting was related to the car not finding the TCU. I'd clear it and it would come back on with in 100 miles or so. I don't think Lucky is with IPD any longer. I'd suggest you call Scott Hart next week. Lucky is now doing tuning with his new company, ARD. http://ardideas.com/volvo.html

prasamin
oh hmm I guess the bulb is burnt out on my 850 then. actually, you might be right....the up arrow may go away when you pull the TCU, but a CEL will be thrown for missing TCU and some other transmission stuff....it's been a long time, I don't remember exactly
