InitialDriveGTR
This man lived across the street from my grandparents and I always loved to go look at his 71' 164 he had parked out front of his barn. I had looked into buying it off him about a year ago, but couldn't afford to buy a car that I was going to restore years from now. He passed away about a month ago due to cancer, and my family just found out through my grandparents, who had called me saying to call his wife about something. So I did, and she said she needed to get rid of the car as she couldn't do anything with it, and it reminded her too much of her husband, and she would rather it go to someone who is a enthusiast. Then she told me that if I can pick it up, I can have it. It has 91K original miles, and is still registered and road worthy. My plan for it when I have the money is to rebuild the engine, swap out the transmission for a manual, Re-upholster the interior, add modern gauges (IE RPM, and a speedo more fitting for my likes) Re-paint it in a gloss black, and more on later. But all in all I want to rebuild it as a tribute to him.
RBoy8
Awesome car, man! Will be cool to see what you do to it. Reading that story on the previous owners is real sad though . That was a very classy and nice gesture of his wife to give it to an enthusiast.

854TGA+
We had one of those for a parts delivery vehicle back in day. Moved out pretty good There is something about those cars, very cool. When you look at the back seat backing from inside the trunk is it wood or is it cardboard? I recall there was something was special about the 164's that have wood.
