And they ALWAYS have those purple "Coexist" or "celebrate diversity" bumper stickers on them...I think they are a dealer option.. There is a guy in Cleveland Heights who drives one around super slow (5mph) and blocks traffic with signs in his windows about "unnecessary driving and excessive speed is killing the environment" and "SUVs support dependence on middle eastern oil" Weaving from lane to lane he wont let people pass.. swedishiron Posted July 9, 2011 Report Share Posted July 9, 2011 I seem to notice Prius drivers more often than other [cars] hogging the Left Lane on the interstate and refusing to yield the Left Lane to let others pass. Because well those exact reasons you hate the prius are why many people hate on Volvos. Granted not people around here, being this is a volvo community, but I've heard the exact same anti-volvo argument from many different people. Great god if you MUST save the planet do it in another lane, will ya? As for passing a Prius, I have NO problem doing so when driving my R.. bring it down out of 6th gear into 4th, hit the go pedal and bye-by Prius! Different story when I'm in my 245... if I sneak up on them from the middle lane or behind a big truck, I can usually get in front of them before they know what hit them. If it's an uphill battle, forget it... my 245 will slowly drop down to the low 50s or even (gulp) high 40s, and the Prius is long gone. Grrrr! I think I'd rather end up paying $5/gallon for gas than have to subject myself to driving one of those. They sort of remind me of that taxi in Total Recall... the one where Arnold gets so pissed at the robotic driver that he rips it off it's mount and commences to drive the taxi himself. I had no greater joy when I had my TDI Jetta than to buzz one in traffic, pull in front of them and dump black smoke. Still 43 mpg w/ 18 lbs boost and actually fun to drive- I miss that car. I had a Honda CR-Z hybrid pull in front of me today after I pulled to the right in order to go around him. As I shifted back to the left and accelerated he proceeded to rev the little 112 HP for all it was worth and I had to punch the gas to get up, past him and over to the left turn I wanted to take without having to follow him. :rolleyes: Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
