When you say it isn't holding up do you mean its popping off the throttle body or is it just leaking?

I think the fact that you have it held together with electrical tape is your problem. And I'm 99.9% sure

idle air control has nothing to do with your air conditioningrolleyes.gif

YeaI was gonna say... Woulda been nice if it some how did, cuz I removed my AC and thhat would have let me sidestep the whole problem lol. Andyes, I knoe =w eletrical tape ain't very wise, but I don't have much access o a welder to have a metal version made

electrical tape isn't doing squat.

If you have to join, get a section of 1" aluminum tube & stuff it in W/clamps. Used a cut in half FCP Groton IAC hose

You can see my previous splice on this pic, otiker clamps are cleaner for this

The IAC kicks in when the AC compressor engages so it doesn't stall the engine, or any accessory load.. The main one is the AC compressor kicking in so it doesn't stall the engine.

You can bypass the IAC and not use it at all. I have seen it done, but not sure what all was involved.

I'm gnna look into this, as I only have an alternator. PS and AC are both removed

For a DD not a good idea. I ran without an IAC for quite a bit and cold starts are a pain, always have to stay on the gas until its warm and even then it can die every now and then when coming to a stop.

I agree. The car I had seen it on was street legal, but was mostly driven on the track.

With the heatwave on the east coast, cold starts shouldn't be an issue for him for a while. :P

I don't see what is so funny

You didn't install a manual rack, since they never made one. The rack you're using has very different characteristics than one designed for manual leverage between the rack & pinion. Must feel pretty crappy @ low speeds.

I looped the lines and made sure they were full. I don't know if Aaron realizes it, but some people can't afford to fix every little problem they come across. I couldn't afford to fix my PS so I did away it. I've never had A/C in he 4 years I've owned this car, so as far as I'm concerned I'm not missing anything. As for driving at low speeds, It was a pain in the ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD at first, but I don't even notice it anymore, been driving it this way for 9 months

As for the IAC issue, I came up with a viable solution that so far is working beautifully.

I have driven many cars with both 0 power steering and also power steering removed systems. I have actually enjoyed them but 99.999% of people have driven with some form of steering assistance for as long as they have had their license so its usually an unwanted change that they just dont like because you actually have to earn your turn or something. After re-adjusting to a friends car without any form of steering I grew to love it. Your car doesnt wander with big bumps or anything and you have more of a feel for the road because your not going to drive with your pinky. In all honesty I would love to not have power steering in some cases but the effort involved in removing it would be pointless for me as mine is still functioning. If it were to ever die out on me I can say I would be flipping a coin on if its worth keeping.

It comes down to people and their desires so let people do what they want to do. I get shit for the RIP kit that I have... yet magically when people get a FMIC kit thats 100000x better than the RIP kit I always here how awesome it was yet I look and always notice wow that hose is routed in the EXACT same style as the RIP kit yet I dont have 3' of mangled around pipe that "cools" better while it runs though those 3' of hot engine bay temperatures. Different strokes for different folks people. I dont flex my dick cause I have a RIP kit and he wasnt flexing his dick about deleting his power steering. the joy of your car is its YOUR car if you want 22" rimpz & underglow do it but if you dont like it dont say anything until an opinion is actually asked.
