deepsovlov
I recently swapped a 6mm vacuum line (marked red) to a 4mm because the clamp is missing so the line keeps popping out. When i went for a test run i immediately noticed the car felt sluggish,no response, like there was very little to no boost even with my foot planted hard on the accelerator. My normal 0-60mph is around 6.5sec,but now it was 11-12sec. So does the vacuum line size really matter & makes that much of a difference? Che'_Moderator
The short answer is yes, but that much slower is not due to size change. You either forgot to hook one up and have a massive leak or a line is collapsing. Just use a zipie and they will not pop off.
deepsovlov
Thanks. As soon as the engine cools abit im going to check out the entire engine bay again for anything lose. Also i will use a larger vacuum hose & see if theres any performance difference. Also theres been a few times when all of the caps on the vacuum tree completely popped off? Every other month i have to replace at least one thats missing and there on very tight.
Che'_Moderator
Use safety wire or zip ties.
