c_long20
I got the intake spacer from Snabb. It says no intake gaskets required, but I don't want to do this twice. I'm lazy like that. Do I need to go ahead and put a gasket on either side of the spacer.
tchnprgrmr
you don't need to, but there is no harm in doing so.
AverageVolvo
Don't need too. But if you did, you would want 2 gaskets. 1 on each side of the spacer

sconeman
don't use extra gaskets unless you get some longer bolts. Polyethylene is self sealing, just torque it down to spec (~14 ft lbs) from the center out just like in the VADIS instructions. Do not over torque the bolts. c_long20
Thanks, I put it on last night without the gaskets and it seems to be doing just fine. Iat's are nice and low too!
Mesoam
"nice and low"? how about actual temps since 98's have that wonderful feature through OBD2 port
tchnprgrmr
you know that the OBD2 IAT isn't in the manifold, right? Anyway, i installed a gasket on each side of my spacer, used stock bolts. it has been holding up fine for several months without any problems. I took a few readings at idle after a quick WOT run. c_long20
They are running bw 129 and 134 depending on how I've been driving. They were like 160 or so, I only checked it like twice. Still holding good w/o gaskets.
NEU
Anyone got advice on the easiest way to install this on a ME7? Is is doable with out taking everything apart? Can I just undo the intake runner, remove the old gasket and slip in or do I need to remove the plumbing and remove the runner.
TIZIO AKA 1 HND MEC
On the ME7 you have less space to work than M4.4 so I might suggest to remove the plumbing.
