atefitty
I have a 1997 850R that I want to begin a manual swap..Is it best to get a M56H from an 96-97 850 or get one from a 98-99 S70/ V70 model..Is there any difference in the flywheels on the two models? I'm thinking its better to get a kit from someone but I want to make sure I have all the parts I need. I'm in the Seattle/Tacoma area (Washington St.) for all you that don't know about us on the west coast. If anyone is available in the area to give some pointers/advise I would appreciate it..Thanks. lengendsecko87
I would try and get one from an 850, external slave is a little bit easier. The difference on flywheels, depending on year, is going to be either a dual mass flywheel or a single mass. You want single mass. Look around for some junker cars. I know that they're a few floating on craigslist for under 1000.http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/cto/2542718976.html Check to see if it's a 5spd. http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/ctd/2538957076.html ? Thanks for the reply. Have you done a swap? I'm not sure how to tell a single mass flywheel from a dual mass but I will look it up. My main concern with getting an 850 as a donor is the mileage on the tranny. I guess you just go for it and you get what you get huh? Those cars you sent have m56L tranny's. I'm going to try to locate a m56H.
