Brad850
Found a set of 25mm Gil Racing wheel spacers in my brothers basement from when he had volans on his old 740. I realize these aren't the typical spacers you would use for an 850 but since they were free I'm kinda really hoping I can make it work. You pretty much attach them to your hub with lugnuts and then attach your wheel to the studs on the spacer. My problem is the head on my lug nuts comes out almost as far as the studs on the spacer which keeps my wheels from sitting flush against it. Is there any place I can buy extended lug nuts with a shorter head? Also are 25mm spacers only on the rear wheels a bad idea? Not sure how negatively it would affect understeer or oversteer. Rolling my fenders wouldn't be a problem I'm just more concerned about how safe this is.
JVC
Finding bolts is gonna be hard. You can grind down the stock bolts though, just the head.
fitsofrage99
^that....as long as everything fastens up tight it should be plenty safe...if you can't torque down on it really hard, I wouldn't run it though...my wheels have come loose a few times...not fun... Brad850
Ok thanks guys. Grinding the bolts down was actually my first thought I think I'm gonna try that. Still not sure if 25mm is a little too much though.

No, finding bolts is easy...and cheap....and MUCH safer than grinding down stock bolts. First, you need to find out the thread pitch of those studs. From there you just search the internetsz and either get "open head lug nuts" or closed, depending on how long the studs are.. Here are the specs for the Kaplhenke stud conversion (http://www.kaplhenke...id=64&Itemid=35). Might be similar, might not. Either way, it's the same concept. You'll need to run LUGNUTS now, rather than bolts. I would take them to a machine shop, hardware store, etc to see if they can check the pitch for you. If they are the standard m12x1.5 thread pitch...CLICK HERE FOR A SHIT TON OF LUG NUTS YOU COULD BUY. Ok thanks guys. Grinding the bolts down was actually my first thought I think I'm gonna try that. Still not sure if 25mm is a little too much though. Don't grind anything. That IMO would be potentially unsafe. Do it right the first time or don't do it at all. Not to mention...you're going to need NUTS not BOLTS. ...and no, 25mm would be fine for the wheels that you're running. You might need to roll your fenders, though. I was referring to finding lugbolts to go through the spacer with a shorter head, then grinding down the hex part of the stock lugbolts to shorten how much they stick out. I don't really see whats wrong with that. Or you could do a stud conversion.
scandalo
You will severely changing how your car acts in a turn by having the rears wider than the front. I wouldn't recommend it.

Most wheels have an indention cast into the wheel in that area, which the head of the lugbolt will fit into. Plus the head of the lugbolt isn't MUCH larger than 25mm. The head of the lug bolt does not fit into that area. If i took about half an inch off of the head it would fit perfectly. Is a little more understeer all that bad for someone who doesn't go to the track or always fly around turns? If it really kills my handling I won't keep em. I ordered some extended lugs from ECS Tuning and the heads are much smaller (didn't end up using them though so they are brand new). If those will work, I will make you a deal on them since they're just sitting in my garage. Would probably be cheaper and less of a headache for you. I'm impatient though so I decided to grind down the bolts and everything went well! Looks real mean now. Hope you didn't take pictures of them for me already . if you change your mind and want to let them go cheap let me know! haha You'll be the first to know if I ever decide to get rid of them :D

Brad850
I'd say about half an inch. They weren't pretty when i got done with them haha but they work. It looks a little funky right now because one of my tires is a little fatter and it sticks out more. I'll post some pictures up when it stops freakin raining.
