s10lowrider1994
So the factory system in our 2000 V70 sucks (no premium sound). I was considering swapping over the head unit from a car we are about to sell, single DIN Eclipse unit that sounds killer. The issue I'm having is that I hate the look of the single DIN in the V70s, the install kit with the cheesy little cubby hole just looks cheap and out of place. Are there any other kits on the market or is this the only way to do it? I'll probably have to pass if I have to deal with that stupid hole. Another option would be to add an amp and aftermarket speakers and keep the factory HU. Has anyone done that with success? It's easy to do but I have no clue how it would sound. Burn-E
SC-900 or 901 with the appropriate amp and upgraded speakers. That or many have gone with a double din aftermarket unit (large screen unit). I think you have to cut off the slats on the sides of the dash hole that the exist unit slides in on in order to fit the double dins. Justin (Chilled Man) and Craig (EVL WAGN) have seen great success around this approach.
