DGulliver
Hello, installed a new filter on the wagon- 2000 V70 XC AWD. Everything unclipped easily, but when reinstalling the line from the tank onto the filter- it leaks. It went back on with a decisive 'click' but have taken it on and off several times, but is still leaking and doesn't want to seat properly. Can I repair the clip, or will I need a new fuel line from the tank? Thanks!
DGulliver
So, the dealer has quoted me $410.00 for a new fuel line. Are there any other ideas, anyone?
DGulliver
I was told this was a 2000 AWD XC deal only. Any ideas on how it can be repaired? Here's what the clip looks like..
jschaefer7406
Hello, In the pics posted, it doesn't look like the line is slid onto the filter nipple far enough. Is that all the further it will go? How did you remove the lines (any chance they were damaged that way)? I've never seen these leak when done, not to say they couldn't... In any case, if the line really is bad, it shouldn't be any where NEAR $400. Not sure what part they quoted you for, but the line between the tank and filter is coming up for $42.29 @ Tasca (P/N 9186286). Worst part would be lowering the tank to access the pump end if it does need to be replaced. Being an aftermarket filter, is there any chance the nipple is different and causing the issue? Just a thought... Hope this helps, Joe
DGulliver
Joe, thanks for the input! I do think the connector is slid up as far as it can go- it makes a 90 degree corner shortly behind it. Maybe I should try an oem filter. Also, the numbers for the line you graciously supplied don't show my AWD 2000 V70 XC Turbo as one of the cars it fits..
DGulliver
Joe saves the day! I went and got an OEM Bosch fuel filter, the clips popped right on- no leaks! I still have a 'no start' condition though. 'ECS' light is on. It runs fine on starting fluid. I can hear the fuel pump cycle when I hit the key, as well as when the engine is cranking over. I'm now assuming the pump housing may be cracked, since I can hear the pump run?
DGulliver
I meant to say "ETS" light. I removed the battery cable and cleared the code, but still no start..
