Gaff
2006 v702.5T. A/C is blowing tepid. I'm guessing it may need a recharge, perhaps there's a leak in the system. Plan is to start with the first since I can DIY, and address the second through VIP if necessary. I've got a gauge set and have done this before on my OTV's R12 system. Anything I need to know before attempting a 134a "top-up" on this car's system?
Ihatespeedbumps
So the A/C blows tepid all the time, or cools well for a while then starts blowing warm? If blowing luke warm all the time you can observe the A/C compressor clutch and see if it cycles rapidly. This would indicate a low charge and would tell us there is a leak in the system. The 06 MY had dye installed from the factory, so no need to add additional. Start checking for leaks with an ultraviolet light. Checking A/C pressures with a gauge manifold is the most accurate way to check system pressure. Of course all of this information is sort of useless because you have a VIP warranty. Go get your free work and don't worry about the headscratching ;)
