volvo940tuner
Had this weird boost problem for a while. This is all with an Upsolute 17 PSI tune, and the stock 15g. When I would originally go full throttle, it would boost, just seemed to not be enough boost. Hooked up a boost gauge finally, and it was only making about 7 psi under full throttle..and was bouncing back down to 4-5, then back to 7. Hooked up an S70 BCS..same problem, although it would boost to about 10 psi, then down to 6-7, then back to 10. Installed a manual boost controller..and now the boost no longer bounces around..but if I was to go full throttle, the car would surely overboost and throw a rod. No matter which way I turn the MBC, it doesn't turn the boost up or down. The boost IS consistent now and no longer bounces around..but even at 3/4 throttle I can make 18 psi. Think the wastegate needs to be adjusted??

*Officine Panerai*
yup, hook the bcs back up and adjust your wastegate until you hit proper psi.
volvo940tuner
Sounds good. As a side question..how much of a PITA is it to change out the turbine housing? I bought an OBX exhaust, and I am switching the turbine housing to an angled type.
volvo940tuner
I guess I will just start spraying PB all over the studs in prep for this. Thanks for the info.
*Officine Panerai*
its not a complete PITA but is certainly harder than changing the air filter
greekone
Not too hard, there's a v-band clamp holding the housing on.
