Dr Brutal Posted September 22, 2011 Report Share Posted September 22, 2011 So, out of nowhere this message showed up saying alarm system needs maintainence, and as far as I can tell the moon roof doesn't work, apparently they're connected somehow. I don't care if my alarm doesn't work, I just want my moonroof open! Is there a solution other than paying a lot of money for some shmo at the dealer to fix it? Ihatespeedbumps Posted September 24, 2011 Report Share Posted September 24, 2011 Your siren module is faulty. Very common in the P2 platform. The internal battery in the siren module shorts and causes a disturbance in the LIN bus to the UEM, which prohibits sunroof operation. The siren module DOES NOT require programming, but it is a dealer only part. It's located behind the R/F fender lining and replacement is pretty straight forward...
