V70r Lip Group Buy

Lip details:

3-4 layers of thick, high-quality marine fiberglass surrounding a metal bar in the center of the front of the lip. The rugged construction means that the lip is far more durable than anyone else's lips of this style but it also lends itself perfectly to repairs, again increasing the longevity of the piece.

Several members including myself and even Justine have stood on these lips. I have flexed other people's lips between my thumb and index finger. My lips are expensive, but in this case I feel you are getting exactly what you pay for.

Purchase details:

The price will be $350 PLUS SHIPPING, with a minimum of 5 people/lips.

If we can get up to 10 lips I will do $325 plus shipping. I will caution you, shipping something that has the same length and width of a bumper is not cheap. I also ensure that my premium pieces arrive in perfect condition. Again, this means that shipping is not cheap. Last time, shipping was at most ~$100 through Greyhound. This time I am going to try to source thinner boxes, but before committing to this GB please do not think that shipping will only be $30. That is unreasonable and I want to make sure everyone knows exactly what they are getting into. I have always been extremely flexible with VS members. For example, last time someone complained about the cost of shipping. They chose to risk using sub-par boxes and packing material with the understanding that I would not be responsible for damage. I was willing to make this exception but this was just that, an exception. I personally do not think if you are investing in something that is so expensive that you should be willing to take chances on delivery.

Finish details:

I do not offer a faux CF finish. You can send these to get wrapped by a company who does this or if you make arrangements I will ship directly to them to cut on shipping costs (but you will have to use FedUPS since GH does not deliver). You can also wrap these in vinyl including 3M Di-Noc, if you think that looks good.

Finish will be a non-reactive primer, ready for paint. I will block these before they go out but your paint guy will want to quickly go over them again before paint (it is not required but just good practice). You CAN paint these yourself if you know/learn how to paint. Some people choose to just spray paint them, but that is not the best method, IMO. Quality paint will last longer.

If you want to do black or some other color NOT matched to your car, unless you send me pre-matched paint, I can paint the lips for you. I obviously use very high-quality paint and my previous paint work speaks for itself. I also use extremely durable marine-grade clear over the paint, which will outlast almost anything out there. Mike is the only member who had his lip painted by me, if you would like to get a feel for the quality I am sure you can ask him.

Install details:

Pre-drilled holes, supplied SS hardware (1/4 20 bolts, washers, and lock washers) with spacers to support center section of the lips. I tried to use the shortest hardware possible last time but some people had difficulty with install. This time I will use longer hardware, so I would suggest putting the bolts face-down to avoid them contacting the pavement when/if you bottom out.

To install: hold lip where you would like it to sit, mark holes through the pre-drilled holes in the lip, drill holes in bumper, secure lip with hardware. It couldn't get any easier unless I did it for you.

GB details:

Due to increasing GB issues, 100% deposit is required to get on the list. This means $325 and you then must pay shipping after your lip is completed and I get you a quote based on your zip code.

In the off-chance that less than 10 people get in, you will just have to pay the shipping plus the $25 difference.

I will not do payment plans like previous GBs. You either have the money or you do not. I will set the date for money to be in at 30 days from this post, so that should give you ample time. If everyone who is interested finishes paying before that time, then obviously we will move forward. I will not begin production until everyone is paid up or the time expires.

Production time once started will be very quick. During the days I will be working on them, I will only be limited by cure times, etc. If I had to pick a time frame to fully complete them, I would say a conservative estimate would be 2 weeks for 10 units.

Payment:

Paypal, cash, check, etc.

That should cover everything. Before you PM me with questions please reference this post, as almost every time people ask me things I have already covered it in the original post or thread.

Yup, here's one color-matched:

Several pics in the first post.

FYI he did not use my mounting method, so the gap you see in some of the pics will not be there if you use the provided hardware.

IIRC I charged Mike $120. He was in a rush for a show or something so I didn't have time to finsh compounding it before I had to ship it. His paint guy finished the compounding and was shocked at how rugged it was.

Adam, how many are on the list now? I'm ready to drop the coin but I need to know if I need to go shake the bushes and publicize this more to get more people on board so that it actually happens? Like on Swedespeed and other forums.

thing is still perfect.

i'm still not happy about you making these again. ^_^

Me too Mikey...maybe we should stop telling people how awesome they are and instead start bitching about poor build quality...lol
