TainterRacing
My car did all most the same thing I could hardly move and I never had a ETM code go off I was able. with might to turn it off and on like 3 to 4 times and get it running like it should then it did it and stayed that way. I put a new ETM in there and it went away. On a Side note one of the only codes I was getting was for same thing.winter drive "up arrow" is flashing continuouslyP1618 error code It would barely more. Ihatespeedbumps
OP: You cannot swap in a junkyard TCU and a used unit CANNOT be reprogrammed to your car. A virgin TCU has to be purchased from the dealer and programmed to your car only. What TCM codes are stored? Is the TCM still online with the high speed network? Are there any other communication faults in the network? If you can't gain access to those, I wouldn't start throwing silver boxes in your car, that won't fix anything. TCM failure would be extremely uncommon in this model. I rarely say this, but I think you need help from a Volvo pro... without solid info, we're just guessing here.
