They have plenty of torque, get about 30mpg in the city, and parts are cheap and easy to replace. If I was going to spend more money I would think about a Spec-V Sentra. My brother had one the first year it came out (2002?) and it was a blast to drive. The interior was ugly as sin but the 6MT, 180hp/180lbs tq, LSD, and 17's made up for it.
