1995 850 Turbo - Fuel Delivery Issue?

I spent the last hour combing the forums to find out how to change my fuel filter, fuel pump, and fuel injectors but am left with a few questions...

First, my 1995 850 Turbo sputters a bit when I give it a lot of gas pedal. It feels like when a car is running out of gas. It accelerates, but slowly, and sputters while it does this.

So...

1) Does this sound like a fuel system issue or an electrical issue?

(I have 140K miles on the car (have owned it since about 90K) and have never changed the fuel filter, fuel pump, or fuel injectors.)

2) If this sounds like a fuel system issue, do these symptoms suggest fuel filter, fuel injectors, fuel pump, or some sort of relay?

(I don't know a lot about fuel systems but thought that pumps go out all at once, not slowly over time so that is why I suspect the fuel filter, or could it be dirty injectors? Another reason I suspect the filter is that I run my tank almost dry prior to most fill-ups.)

3a) If fuel filter, are their additional gaskets/washers needed during the job? The instructions don't mention any but I see some parts for sale on several of the Volvo parts sites.

3b) Do I really need a thin/blade 15mm wrench for the job or can I get by without it? (Do I need thin/blade wrenches for other jobs on this car?)

4a) If it is the pump, is there any reason to buy OEM considering it is super easy to replace?

4b) Are their additional parts besides the pump that will need to be replaced during that job?

4c) I see a strainer bag for the bottom of pump for sale on ebay. Are these stock and if not, are they a good idea or just a waste of money?

5a) Is there an easy way to check if the fuel injectors are bad/clogged/dirty/etc?

5b) Can anyone suggest a good San Francisco Bay Area fuel injector cleaning and testing shop?

5c) What do the different injector colors mean? (I remember reading a thread about this years ago, but can no longer find it.) I will likely need to buy a used set and have them rebuilt because I can't go without my car while waiting for the originals to be rebuilt. As long as I am replacing them I want to get whatever is best. I think my stock ones are orange/yellow, but I may be building the engine up shortly and wouldn't mind having the next step or two up, as long as they won't cause me any issues prior to the build-up.

5d) Does anyone have an extra set they want to sell me?

5e) Is the fuel injector test light (sold on IPD) useful or just a waste of money? (Do these cars commonly have injector voltage issues?)

Thanks in advance for your help and suggestions.

Sounds like a fuel issue. Take off fuel rail. Rebuild injectors with new seals and caps. They can get gummed up pretty easy.

If that doesn't work FPR is always good and cheap if I am not mistaken.
