Check it, yo. I'm doing the standard WMI kit basedon this design

Plan on using regular wiper fluid reservoir and fluid type for the injection. I'm using a 0.02" injector. I have a trunk-mountable tank, and priming pump, if I need/want to add that later down the road.

I know a handful of people are running various brands/DIY kits themselves. Where did you mount your pumps when not trunk mounted? I need to leave space under my front clip for the FMIC setup so I'm looking in the engine bay and want to see what others did.

I put mine right behind the driver side light. Mine is the old amist pump though so it's nice and compact.

I used to have the Aquamist system but the pump died and that forced me to replace the pump and remove the relay system since it is proprietary. I am now running a Snowperformace 250 pump mounted next to the charcoal canister. I am using a pressure switch to trigger a bank of two relays that run the pump. Super simple.The flow meter is still inline. Works better than it ever did with the Aquamist system.

What died on your pump? You can pretty much replace any part of the race pumps.

Ran but built no pressure, drizzled out. I took it apart to clean/find out whats wrong. Couldnt find anything so I sold it for parts on ebay. Someone in the UK bought it. I am very happy with what I have now.

Damn, yeah those things even busted can go for some money. But hey atleast you made something out of it :-)

I wouldn't. You will run into cases where you bog the engine down with the mix. If you inject to soon it will happen. (I know.)

You are better off using an injector or something like it. A-mist's "2d" system used an injector type thing to inject at different flow rates which has a nice little controller with it as well.

You could add a interrupt routine into the ECU's software to enable water injection dynamically based on inputs and the mapping of the tune you are running.

True, but you would theoretically need some kind of injector to do it. Or you would need to flow bench the Jet. With the aquamist jets, there is a specific pressure required at minimum to atomize the water/meth. If you fall below it you run the risk of dribbling and could possible cause other issues.

I just don't see the need for dynamic spray on these cars as we aren't really running high HP. Now maybe a 700 HP engine that sees long periods of boost. Or something that is running super advanced timing with a higher CR and boost.

Just seems like extra money for me. But if you can do it on the cheap go for it.

Well what the idea I am getting at is basically controlling the pump based on a more accurate form of input. (Keep in mind I have NO idea what actual values you would use for this, I'm just trying to get an idea across) Say you are at 50% throttle, the pump is off. My understanding is that with the standard setup, say when you hit 55% throttle the pump would go to 50% pressure, then full pressure at above 75% throttle. Keep in mind these values I am making up. With the idea I'm proposing, when you hit the throttle position where it becomes beneficial to turn on the pump, it would turn on the pump to a flow rate that would match the throttle position. IE imagine having a map 3d map where the X-axis is RPM, Y-axis is throttle position, and The Z-axis (The value being looked up using the X and Y-axis) would be the flow rate of the pump.

I am only talking about a system of controlling the injection system, not the actual jets etc. I have no clue about that stuff lol
