rodrigo
Hi Guys! I know I've been gone for a while but I lurk on here ever so often to see what people are up to and if there are any get togethers I can crash. Thought I'd post pictures of the newest addition to the uncovered garage of the household: the 1992 Vespa PX200E. I've been using to to go to work and run errands. We've had it just over a month now I think, I picked it up the Friday before Irene hit the Northeast. I've put about 1200km's on it since. Have some engine work to do this winter with replacing the jug & piston, which i am told should take all of about 2 hours =D Drum brake on 10" wheel succkkahhh!!! Got to get the cover painted. The bike was imported from UK...originally from Northern Spain. Everything is in kilometers, and no battery! This is 200cc of pure 2-stroke kickstart goodness accompanied by that lovely smell of burning 2T on start up! Hope ya'll like! ;)

Owned
My wife would be jealous, she digs Vespas. I don't know if you know this or not but it's not a good idea to store 2-strokes with gas in them anymore, due to the ethanol. Something to think about when winter comes. NEU
Nice! Got me a 1981 p125x in Italian red. Mines a US version with the stupid rear light, love to swap to the euro light. I've also got passager backrest with luggage rack and picked up some free parts last time I was in Italy off junked ones littering the streets of Roma and Firenza. Unfortualy mine is another project for me to fix after the gearbox seal blew out, maybe I should just upgrade to a 200 or 225.
rodrigo
Thanks for the compliments. The PX will be spending the winter in my father's shed. I have to still get a lot of little parts and tinker with it. Storage will be with very little fuel...while it is running one can just flip the lever to cut off fuel from the tank and the motor will just die from fuel starvation. Then all you;re left with is fuel in the tank, but that in itself can be dangerous with corrosion. If it's left empty it can corrode from condensation...whichever way you pick you're doomed to be screwed so it's a crap shoot! It has been a great little scooter for us. Mine also came with a backrest and a MOD target wheel cover that I'm trying to sell off. The wife and I will be in Paris for Christmas and I will be looking around for parts/accessory places. Maybe I should try taking this to Carlisle one year. It should only take about 14 hours or so.... Be well everyone! :)
