boxpin
Hey guys, pulling my newer trans case apart and its stuck for some reason. I got it this far. I pulled my other case on and off several times without issue but this one is not letting go. Thoughts?
boxpin
I got up inside with a mirror and see the issue. the Spring Pin that holds the shift arm mechanism inside has slipped out. The pin is hitting the side of the case and wont let the arm swing out of the way far enough to clear the slot its in to free the case. Its going to take some serious thinking how to get that pin out or pushed back in with only an inch worth of room and then a 90 degree turn for a shot at the pin. prasamin
you may need to push the case back together and try to move the arm around a bit to get the spring pin into a different position so it doesn't get lodged like that. as it is, you're going to need to replace the spring pin once you get it open....not sure how strong they are..if it's slightly bent or anything then it may affect your shifts... boxpin
I had to bend a wrench to get inside to release a bolt that held some stuff together then pull the case apart the other way. I got it and now you can see what I was up against.
