850rclone
Ok so this may sound nebbish but it's not. Bought this car about a year ago and test driving it it didn't have much power something was wrong. So took it back to the shop and figured out one of the one-way check valves went bad. Replaced that. Pretty quick car now. So then I started hearing a "whistle" when the turbo is spooling. It happened at 1 lb and continues all the way till you let off the gas. So again went back to the shop and hooked up the intake leak pressure tester and did a smoke test. And nothing came out bad. I replaced all the vacuum lines and made sure everything was tight and up to date. Then i saw the intake was missing a few bolts. Put a new intake gasket on( and new flame trap system while the intake was off) still made the spooling noise. I have never had a turbo go bad on me and it doesn't sound like the turbo's i have heard that are bad. I turned the boost up to 14 psi (well kinda. I counted 14 turns and supposed to be about 1 psi/ turn) and the boost gauge read 8. So that makes me think an intake leak but no smoke appears or anything. Thoughts anyone? 550
14 turns ~ 14 psi. There are things that will affect that. Whats your wastegate preload at?
