jroot
I've read many posts saying that the 302mm brake upgrade won't rub with perfos but I'm experiencing rubbing. I haven't been able to check to see exactly what's rubbing (bracket or rotor) since it's raining but will do so hopefully tomorrow. Has anyone else had this problem with perfos? Am I missing something? It does sort of sound like it's only coming from the driver side but that could be because I'm sitting on the driver side so I hear it more. Thanks Jay

jroot
Yeah. I have a s70 t5 that came with the perfos kind of why I'm puzzled but who knows maybe something came lose while switching to my winter wheels. Correct me if I'm wrong but the Columbas were what came on the 94-97 850 Turbos.
gotboost
Post a pic of your wheels. My '98 S70 T5 SE came stock with Anthracite Columbas which will not work with the 302mm brakes. I know people are probably going to say that S70's never came with Columbas, but I have the original window sticker to prove that a few did. Is your car by chance an SE model? 854TGA+
I'm running 302's with Columbas. Very slight grind was required to caliper bodies and wheel weights have to be mounted behind wheel spokes ;)

I'm positive they are perfos. They look like these: http://www.dealershipaccessories.com/stores/images/items/item_40742.gif

Maybe you bent the dust shield a little bit when installing everything??? I did that when doing a brake job on my XC one time and it was rubbing on the brake rotor. Just a thought. Yeah I'll have a look tomorrow to see what's going on...but just figured I'd ask to see if anyone else experienced something similar with perfos but I had doubts that anyone has. Mesoam
an even slightly tweaked dust shield can make for some serious noise maybe FIORE can comment on that
crazykn
I experienced a weird problem after installing the new upgrade caliper bracket. Because they painted on glaze to shine up the refurbished bracket (they refurbish cores), I couldn't put in the pads because the glaze is keep it from fitting that one last milimeter or so. So because I was rushed for time, I took the dremel and sanded off the edges of the pad metal side backing, to make it fit. The pads are from Centric brakes and I checked them with the OEM, and they are the correct size. I should've sanded off the glazed part of the caliper bracket instead. Time to fix it.
