IMG_20111031_185202.jpg

all these things came out 20 cap looking things and 11 full bolts and 3/4 of another

IMG_20111031_185217.jpg

little bit of this

IMG_20111031_215714.jpg

because i got this

IMG_20111031_190550.jpg

i bought some of these

IMG_20111031_213048.jpg

to get this out

IMG_20111031_215014.jpg

IMG_20111031_215139.jpg

ended up using the titanium bit from dewalt and made a hole and used this black and decker removal tool

IMG_20111031_215729.jpg

now the head goes to the machine shop tomorrow.

IMG_20111031_215739.jpg

depending on what they say, it'll be a $80 mill and deck or a $365 rebuild, i think i'll spring for the rebuild for safe measure.

so blown head gasket is because the head bolt failed. i did hear a jingling noise when i gave it gas. i think the guys that did the timing belt service did not time it right. they did not set the bottom timing mark. i set the cams to the right mark up top assuming the bottom was right. from the picture below it is definatly off

Dropped off the intake manifold and valve cover at my alternator/starter rebuilder. he has a nice ceramic cleaning machine and some kind of glass bead polishing thing....i dont wtf he is talking about but he says the valve conver and intake mani will look like new

Dont ask why but i ordered a 200AMP High Output alternator....Just because, LOL. actually, he offered to do that...."Steve, i'll hook it up for you. The usual? 200 ampper?"

New starter and alternator is going in...Just because it is ALOT easier right now. $850 worth of parts was ordered from FCP last night. Blue boxes for the important stuff..water pump, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, pulleys, and heater core. All the rest of the stuff, like the heater in and out hoses, upper and lower rad hoses are might as well stuff...again much easier to do now. This will be a strong strong Stage 0

Very nice wagon! That driver's seat is so clean it doesn't even look as if it was ever farted on.

VERY BAD IDEA!!!! Unless he is sealing off the castings to prevent any of that shit getting inside the intake or the cam cover - it will adhere to the casting & let loose when you run the motor - with very detrimental results.

yes, asked him about that. it gets cleaned then it gets the beading on the outside.

DO NOT GET THE SILICONE TURBO HOSES FROM FCP. they dont fit for shit.

Today installed

  • New In Heater hose
  • New Out Heater hose
  • New Heater core coupler clips
  • New Lower Radiator Hose
  • New PCV box
  • New Vacuum Hoses
