typo: Cast not Casy

Just for the record, Pegs are overrated, even though they came stock with my P2R. They are boring looking to me (every modded Volvo has them), and heavy.

More of Flow Forming on BBS's site:

are the peg replicas from ipd garbage as well?

Any Peg replica wheel is garbage.

- It's a casted wheel (likely low pressure)

- they don't even look exactly the same as the real deal, look at: spokes edge, center PCD area, barrel angle, and the "R" logo

- they are just as heavy, if not, heavier than the OEM ones.

Other than the 19" Peg Reps, I don't know why people even bother buying the Peg reps, look for the real ones.

And here starts the inevitable decline of Peg popularity.

Same thing happened to Rota's, people hitting potholes with tires that couldn't support a Geo Metro, or hitting a highway divider at a drift track and posting up their obliterated wheel pics: "ROTAS SUCK BAWLZ."

Lol. Sorry about your wheels. I know you put a ton of work into get them on yer kar :P

Just to make things clear, not all Casy wheels are crap. There's also a method of casting called Flow Form Casting(Spun Rim or Rim Rolling) that can get to Forged wheel like strengths. Most of the current model BBS Cast wheels are made this way (perhaps not OEM though).

Close but not quite.

You know BBS went bankrupt over 5 years ago right? A Belgian company took them over, and I believe moved all their productions to either Korea or China.

So are you implying that BBS makes crap wheels now? I have a hard time believing that. They may have moved their plants to Korea or China, but that doesn't mean that they are sacrificing quality.

I completely don't understand your ignorance Che (just because you own this site, and you're moderator here), you are coming across like: It's made in China, it's crap.

Apple products are made in China, so is your computer that you are currently typing on, and practically every piece of technology or appliance in your home is made in there.

 except you're forgetting that there aren't many OEM wheels that you can put on a Volvo without spacers and still have them fit over a BBK. Everyone knows they're boat anchors. They use them because they like the looks, they want BBK, and if you put them on the right weight of car this doesn't happen just from normal driving.

If you were active here, or pulled your head out of your ass long enough to learn something, you would know I have started more pro china threads than anyone. As for the rest of your opinions, they are much like your orginal comments. One sided opinions that are worthless.

Oh .. Samsung is owned by Koreans (is there a market they are not in, and not doing well?) , Jaguar are owned by Indians (Tata Motors / Tata Group) and Volvo are own by China (Geely),

The times are changing.

That does not mean the products they make are any worst than they were.

And the best part, the OEM Volvo Pegasus wheels were made in Poland, so that makes them crap right? Get real, the problem was that the wheel was likely over capacitated by being installed on an much heavier XC vehicle. Does that make the Pegasus wheels less integrity? No, because that's not what the Pegs were made for.

And even Forged wheels, despite being stronger will get destroyed too if you hit them hard or fast enough into a concrete barrier. Doesn't matter if it's made of pure forged titanium. Any wheels will break...

P.S. Rotas are fine too, it's probably those ricebox owners were ripping up those wheels on the track and didn't have proper tires(stretched, stanced), or looked up proper load ratings for their car before the mishap.

Do you read or think before you reply? I said it has nothing to do with where they are made. It has to be with the BBS everyone hangs off of is not longer around. QCQA is not what it once was.

I may be picking the wrong fight, as clearly you have the upper hand. But your words seem to speak just arrogance. You may have started more Pro china thread, but you obviously weren't just a few posts ago. And my opinions are my opinions, nobody needs to listen to me, but that doesn't mean their worthless just because I'm not active enough as you or other members here. Yeah, I have my head in my ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD.. Look who's talking?
