Che'_Moderator
Ahh ok, so your referring directly to DOT which doesn't apply here in Canada. And TORT = Law, which obviously does not. But does JWL-T not do it? and TUV? These obviously doesn't apply in the US though. Canada is lawless?
pcguru000
I have found pegs to be very sturdy - I've lost at least 5 tires due to potholes, and not one bent peg. That last pic is impressive. That rim held together pretty well considering the impact. Could have shattered into many pieces if it were a weaker design. This is has been my experience PA roads are really crappy and ive never bent or cracked a peg... my perfos however are bent to hell lol
DevolvR
Canada is lawless? When did I say that? What I meant was that U.S.DOT only applies in the United States. In Canada, MOT on the federal level or provincial level may adopt most of the regulations that DOT follows, but it's definitely not the same. So I'm not sure they do "wheel" certification testing at any level. Let not get into law, as it's more a reactive rather than proactive regulation (ie; sue someone after something bad happens)

DevolvR
Obviously does not what? Wheel certification; durability, performance testing. Which I was referring to all along.

If any assumption is to be made, most readers, and this site, are US based so.... DevolvR
Flailing... The question is whether Alfred is at 1 finger, 2 fingers, or if he's about to go down for the third time? LOL nice. Love you too... When did this discussion become specific to Canadian requirements? If any assumption is to be made, most readers, and this site, are US based so.... But better, I'm pretty sure this debate was country-abstract The moment when Che asked whether or not Canada had any law. I didn't put ourselves in this country abstracted discussion. But wheel certification is country-abstracted considering JWL /JWL-T is Japanese only and TUV is German, but DOT is more convoluted...

They don't look for stamping or anything before registering and plating the vehicle, nor does it do any testing for the wheels itself. They do however inspect the tires.
