Let_The_Fun_Begin
I am new to Volvo. I just purchased a 2002 S80 2.9 no turbo with a stock Navigation that is not reading the dvd. I found one on ebay for $235 with a 30 day return policy but I came across an aftermarket GPS/TV/DVD/CD/iPOD player for 300 and was wondering if I could used this in my dash instead of replacing the OEM Nav. Is there any way to hook it up to my steering controls. And if for some reason I cant get a dash kit to install it or this part wont work has anyone upgraded their radio to something similar? I thought it would be nice to have the factory OEM part but I know there is so much out there that is far more up to date with a variety of options i wont even come close to with the oem part. This is what I was looking to install Aftermarket Radio or something similar with comparable features. Also I am looking not to waste time as I have quite a bit of work on this car ahead of me (which I am doing myself) and it is getting to the winter season So I would rather have this done before I am doing it out in the snow... o_0
Guest colin
I would look long and hard on e-bay for the best nav deal. The site is probably loaded with themmm I always use Crutchfileld for audio swaps. Colin
j.klimas
I got my audio and video components on http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/ . Great prices on everything. For navs I would go with either Pioneer, or Alpine. Not a big fan of Kenwoods. I have a Pioneer Nav and its great.
j.klimas
As far as a dash kit, it looks like you might have to jerry rig a double din dash insert from one of the Metra single din dash kits found on the above mentioned website. You need a wiring harness Metra Electronics 70-9220. And as far as the steering wheel controls some of the higher end navs have inputs but if not you can use a universal like the Axxess ASWC. I just recently did a swap in my 2000 v70, looks really nice now but i had to jerry rig a dash kit.
