notaduc
Anyone have a part number or know where to source boots only? It is a late 1998. Thanks!

notaduc
Not for the axles, for the driveshaft (propshaft).
Che'_Moderator
I thought you had to replace the whole unit. Volvo PN: 30651204 This? http://www.ebay.com/...=item2314034980 Only time I saw one of these go bad was on an XC 90, and it was run dry for so long the entire thing had to be replaced. Didn't even know you could buy just the boots. Good thread on it:
FCP Euro
+1 I am almost positive that you have to replace the whole shaft, which is why you are probably having a hard time finding the boots only.

You sell the complete unit? I could not find it?
BEJinFBK
Contact: www.coloradodriveshaft.com I don't know if they sell just the parts, but I've read plenty of great reviews about their rebuilds.
notaduc
Thats insane. Where is lookforjoe? Im sure he replaced just the boots on his.
notaduc
I just found these guys have replacement cv's for $85, and boot kits for $36 which is everything here minus the cv joint... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Volvo-AWD-V70-XC70-Driveshaft-CV-Joint-Kit-ME734-/250924550026?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item3a6c44c78a
BEJinFBK
Probably still worth calling a shop for a parts quote that rebuilds with a warranty. You have a better chance of getting quality parts that'll go the distance. And it's always nice to have more than one quote - Just sayin'... Keaton85
I've replaced them, and not with zip ties or duct tape.
notaduc
I've replaced them, and not with zip ties or duct tape. Awesome, where did you get the boots? The joints themselves are fine, have them in the hot tank, sending the shaft out for a new center universal, support bearing and balance... notaduc
As an update, driveshaftpartsllc first told me they had boot kits, but hasnt responded since I told the which size, even after another email and its been a few days. Lookforjoe has told me that he got his boots from coloradodriveshaft.
cn90
Usually this is sold as a complete kit (CV joint included in addition to the boot). I just wonder if you need ONLY the boot, can you use the GKN Boot Kit ($10 online) used for 1998 V70FWD and somehow improvise and fit in your drive shaft. As long as you have a good seal, who cares how you do it. Just a thought!
