boxpin
I have read the manual swap thread but my wires are not matching up to the colors. I dont have a blue with a white. Does anyone recognize which wires I need? There are two fat ones and two skinnys.
Volvo5.0
My schematic shows the blue/green wire and the blue wire. Edit: It is the BLUE/GRAY (pin 9) wire and the BLUE (pin 5) wire.
lookforjoe
The pins are numbered in that plug - disassemble it to see the pin #'s I used: For Reverse Use Pin 9 (Blue-Green Blue-Gray +) & Pin 5 (Blue - feed to lights). There is more than one solid blue wire, as you have found!

atefitty
Following the information I got reading this forum I used the blue blue/gray wire and it did not work..My chilton manual says blue green wires. The hot wire is always hot according to chilton...the blue gray wire is only hot with key on..I checked at the fuse box.. still confused on why it does not work if I have power with key on though. Jardim
Weird, when i did my swap the Haynes Manual said "BLUE & BLUE/GREEN" but it didnt work so till this day i was stuck with no reverse lights..... Then i read your comment "BLUE & BLUE/GRAY"....tried that combo out and they came on when i put it in reverse.... 94 850 Turbo....Its rather strange but could certain years have different color setup on the TCU plug? I looked again to be sure, and you're right, it is the Blue (pin 5) and BLUE/GRAY (pin 9) wires. It is the same for 850's and X/70's. Edited my first post to make it correct. dublin14
A little off topic... My pal Kyle (boglin) as he used be called on VS is the parts manager at my local Volvo. He was a down at a Volvo conference in Texas last week and text me to say they had a 400hp Polstar C30 there that uses the 850R SM flywheel and clutch. Anyways, Volvo and Polstar said the 850R SM Flywheel clutch setup was the best they have made to date. Which for us that use it is nice to hear. Mine is cryo treated, so its even better B)
