pcguru000 Posted December 10, 2011 Author Report Share Posted December 10, 2011 :( Any reason my switched ignition 12volts would just stop working? its not to do with the anti theft is it? Just wanted to turn this thing on before i began all the wiriing- ive got the 12v constant and ground hooked up- tested, a good 12v there, then last night i plugged in the radio, the buttons lit for a second and then faded out- couldn't figure it. Now i just tested that ignition 12v line and theres nothing... key turned all they way on (as far as i can without turning the car on.) pcguru000 Posted December 10, 2011 Author Report Share Posted December 10, 2011 Apparently an overload relay "x" ? cant find any partnumbers, not even sure which relay it is- just found that in googling about it... Seems the fans/blower for the climate system aren't turning on now either... so i guess perhaps this relay is related. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
BEJinFBK Posted December 10, 2011 Report Share Posted December 10, 2011 Could be the relay. 2/30 = 105. You can swap it with 106 for troubleshooting. And double check fuse 32 with a meter. Best way is in circuit. Key on, be sure there's the same voltage on both pins. May also be the electrical part of the ign switch. Does jiggling the key get you anywhere? pcguru000 Posted December 11, 2011 Author Report Share Posted December 11, 2011 Yeah i thought it was the relay for sure, started looking and swapping a bunch (didn't have your post at the time, thank you good to know) - to no avail. FInally i got pissed and started ripping fuses in reverse order... stumbled over 32 soon enough... was blown [RAGE] ... i had looked that 7 - the radio fuse, not the lower 32- ecc/radios/etc etc... should have been obvious to me considering the climate control wasn't working too. Glad i still have stock audio for the minute Next will be to get the visteon working properly- the plug on the back has been rigged - copper wires just jammed in (with out the little crimp connected pin slides for each pin on the units plug)... If anyone knows anything about visteon, how to order parts etc let me know this is gonna be a bit of work but when its done itll be sick. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
