SRTthis Posted December 21, 2011 Author Report Share Posted December 21, 2011 thats how i had it timed... talked to an ex volvo tech over on yellowbullet and he said i need to turn the VVT cam 90 past the mark then back into place. im going to give it a shot next week when im off along with a few other things. Set the notches on the drivers side level with the deck. The exhaust gear will be way off. This is where you need a cam locking device or another person. I stuck a piece of angle iron in the slot and put vise grips on it or something. Have your buddy hold the exhaust cam in place while you twist the gear counter clock all the way and then let it back enough to catch the first available tooth and get the belt on. Trust me that's the clearest explanation you'll find on the internet. thats how i have it sitting right now with the exhaust cam slot parallel with the deck. but my VVT hub automatically pulls counter clock. so the exhaust cam mark wont line up at all?
